“I found Zen in my Tangles”
When I first heard the word
“Zentangle” I thought to myself, what is that! I was a little intimidated at
first thinking I could never do something that intricate and neat. But after my
first try, I was hooked. This made me
want to do more and using all different colors besides black. I think these would be so neat transferred
onto a T-shirt or a cup. The ideas are endless.
After looking at the cover of the
book, I was more familiar with seeing designs like this is an adult coloring
book and it looked like something I would enjoy doing as I love crafting and
the feeling I get after I have finished a project.
After completing the first
Zentangle, I was amazed at how they can turn out. The vibrancy of the shading
and filling in of the colors. I even suggested to my friend that she try and do
a few. It is so fun and relaxing that you just want to do more.
What I did not realize is that
there are so many different patterns to choose from and how I would notice more
designs by looking at different things around my house that reminded me of a
different pattern I could try. Or outside like roof tops or sidewalks. Trying
to think off the top of my head, different patterns to use inside the string,
it takes me a while, but I listen to meditation music, and it helps.

I also love the idea that it does not take much time to be able to do this art;
so, it is not expensive at all just to accomplish something that is so relaxing,
fun and you cannot make a mistake!
